Important Notes
Trip Charges
- $2.00/mile one-way (calculated from zip code 24520). If you are 60 miles away, your trip charge would be $120. This can be split among multiple clients at the same location. I am located in Alton, VA as of November, 2022. I am within an hour of Danville, Raleigh, Durham, and Pittsboro.
Maximize the Benefits of Your Appointment
A clean, dry, flat area is required for optimum results. Areas to walk and trot your horse in a straight line and circle is helpful for evaluating balance and lameness. Removing excess dirt, mud, and hair is greatly appreciated. Please have effective fly spray on hand!
Payment Options
Payment is due at the time of service. I accept cash, money orders, personal/business checks (payable to Rebecca Wyatt), Zelle (910-234-8376), Venmo (@hightailcreative), and PayPal (bellafly@gmail.com). Returned checks are subject to a $35 fee, and future payments will be required in cash.
Canceling/Rescheduling Appointments
Appointments canceled or rescheduled less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled date are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. This is due to the fact that when you cancel at the last minute, the appointments for the entire day are affected. If I am not notified of a cancellation within 48 hours, the full amount of the scheduled services will be billed and due upon receipt. Keep in mind that rescheduling may incur a wait time of a full cycle (4-5 weeks).
Suggested Service Intervals
My desire is for your horses to be as healthy and sound as possible. Keeping a regular hoof care schedule throughout the year is important for hoof health. An inconsistent hoof care schedule is detrimental to the overall health and soundness of your horses. Overgrown hooves can cause injuries, abscesses, are uncomfortable to stand on, and are more difficult to trim. Suggested seasonal intervals are 3-5 weeks from March-October, and 5 weeks from November-February (this may vary based on individual needs). Appointments scheduled more than 5 weeks apart will be subject to “Setup Trim” fees as described above.
Fractious or Untrained Horses
In order to provide the best service possible, it is important for your equine to be trained to cooperate for hoof care procedures. Training services that educate both horse and owner are available for $100/hour. One to three sessions are usually enough to ensure a safe hoof care experience. Please notify me in advance if training is needed at your appointment.
